FURNACE, AC, AND DUCTWORK

Your HVAC system is the main component of your comfort  in your RV. Proper maintenance is essential. The "Big Dog" Suggests:


  1. Periodically check furnace for proper operation and temp rise. Check AC's for proper fan operation and temp drop.
  2. Keep ductwork and vents unobstructed.
  3. Clean filters regularly.
  4. Periodically clean AC evaporator and condenser coils. 
  5. Clean drain holes in the drain pans.
  6. Examine external shrouds for cracks and damage.
  7. Test for LPG (propane) leaks

WATER HEATERS

No one like a cold shower! The "Big Dog's"       yearly maintenance recommendations are:   

        

  1. Test for LPG (propane) leaks.
  2. Drain and flush tank
  3. Check condition of anode rod.
  4. Check Temp & Press relief valve.
  5. Clean main burner and orifice.
  6. Clean and test thermocouple.
  7. Clean and adjust electrode assembly.
  8. Verify operation of 120VAC element.

WINTERIZATION/SPRING START UP

  • When winter is "down the road", and it's time to close up for the year, let the "Big Dog" help you do it right. We will button up your rig correctly utilizing our 10 point checklist. You can feel  confident that when you and your family return the following year your rig will be ready to go:  We will:

  1. Drain fresh water tank and  winterize.
  2. Disconnect and drain ice maker.
  3. Close water heater bypass valves.
  4. Drain water heater.
  5. Remove and inspect water heater element.
  6. Pump anti-freeze through all fixtures.
  7. Remove  and winterize water filter housings.
  8. Drain grey water tank(s) and inject anti freeze.
  9. Confirm black tank evacuation and winterize.
  10. Return system to a ready condition for future use.

ROOF CLEANING / CONDITIONING

  •   Where your RV'S roof is concerned, "Out of sight" should definitely not be "out of mind". Dirt, grime, leaves, and pine needles mixed with moisture and baked by the sun can create a  corrosive condition on your RV's roof. As we all know, water is your RV's biggest enemy!  When you want to keep dry, the "Big Dog" recommends:



               1.  Regular cleaning with mild soap and water. (2-4 times / YR)

               2.  Regular inspection of seals and caulking. (2-4 times / YR).

               3.  Replacement of seals and caulking. (As required by inspection)

               4.  Roof Re-Surfacing or replacement as required.
